"Take 42 hours out of your work week. Place 28 of them in water, 14 of them on land. Take muscle, heart, and pure dedication and place it in your future at 2 years old. Take that dedication and lead it to 12 reigning CAA championships, NCAA's and 2012 Olympic Trials. Take every dream, goal, aspiration, and time commitment and place it on a single block for one moment of glory.
And then why don't you just take everything the experience has made us as student athletes and just throw it away? Because the revenue you gain is far more important than the pride and respect we've gained through every sweat, ache, failure and accomplishment through the sport that shaped our adolescence, correct?" -Heather Shaver, member of the Women's Swim&Dive team
Take this and add it to the amount that we've given back to the community. We host a Swim School every summer, where local children can come and learn to swim with experts in the Seahawks' home. We've participated in multiple canned food drives and volunteered at local animal rescue centers. Our GPA has increased with each year, not to mention the Men's team's 12 STRAIGHT CAA Championship victories.
We are constantly being told that our sport does not matter, please help us keep that from being official!
