I'm signing because the comments specifically described in this petition are not only sexist, but progressively backwards. This point of view does nothing to propel today's students into recognizing the role and substantial worth of the female mind and experience in today's society.

There is a difference between strongly held opinion and hateful invective. He crossed that line.

I’m ashamed to be an alumni of this university. UNC Wilmington needs to take action.

His inexcusable conduct towards gay people and people of the Muslim faith is hateful and unforgivable. He outwardly hates women and this misogyny cannot go on any longer. If he is not removed we have to assume that the school supports his actions and therefore will have to call to action the demise of the university in its entirety.

A university professor is a public position, and therfore speech must consider all of the schools constituents; taking that role requires discretion. Multiple lapses suggest he is not cut out for the position he holds. Seperately, limits on all citizens for the purpose of averting or reducing a health crisis is not close to slavery, a removal of virtually all liberties.
