I am only a boy, I am in my teens. Please be the one who listens to me.

I go to a school yet recently they have banned phones. This issue has become relevant as it prevents us from doing our course work (for example taking pictures of making things in engineering), Preventing people from contactng families, Preventing interviews that schools want us to do and many more issues.

I am aware that in school phones may cause issues but that shouldn't prevent everyone from using them.

For the issues that have been caused, let's talk about them. If you want to argue that we shouldn't have phones due to cyberbullying well, cyberbullying will still occur with the ban of phones outside of the school and most likely to make this bullying physical. If this ban were lifted in schools, the bullying can be stopped early as the in-app/media setting allow users to block and report the content and accounts making the whole scenario circumvented and prevented.

Another argument I have heard is the use of them to take pictures of students. When this happens the student is punished with the in-school system. This is the issue as a violation of the law is treated like a slap on the wrist, here in the UK, if you record or take a picture of someone else without their permission it is a crime by the law and can be punished by jail time so if people were correctly punished it would be deterred and most won't happen.

The final argument I'm going to talk about here is that it prevents people from being social in schools. For those who talk normally and are social, it doesn't stop people from talking, it only allows them to talk to friends who might not be able to physically be with them at the time, this is only allowing people to be more social. On top of this, students who may be anti-social will have a chance to do something during break and lunch. I know from personal experience that break and lunch can be extremely boring because of a lack of school providing things to do. For these people, phones provide something to do during these times which would allow them to relax instead of doing nothing.

With this in mind, what is wrong with having a phone in school? If you agree I please ask for your help to spread awareness of this happening in schools.
