UN Convention on the Rights of LGBTQ and Their Families

Despite the UN Universal Human Rights Declaration declared over 65 years ago; UN Convention on Economical; Social and Cultural Rights and UN Convention on Civil and Political Rights, convention for particular communities or social norms such as UN Convention Against All Form of Racial Discrimination; UN Convention Against All Form of Discrimination Against Women; UN Convention on the Child Rights; UN Convention Against Tortured and All Forms of Indecent Treatment; UN Indigenous Rights Declaration; UN Convention on the Rights of Migrants and Their Families; UN Convention on the Rights of Person With Disabilities; and proposed UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons are still necessary to strengthen and advance such as democracy, peaqce, harmony, liberty, equality, justice, inclusiveness, diversity, human rights and dignity.

LGBTQ people and communities have been one of the most discriminated and persecuted groups throughout history of humanity. With the efforts of the global community, UN has recently recognized the rights of LGBTQ people and communities. However, due to much apathy or indifference, discrimination, marginalization, violence, abuse, exploitation and persecution of LGBTQ people and communities in societies; it is necessary for UN and the global community to establish the rule of law to prevent and eliminate such tragedies and atrocities. Even presently, LGBTQ are still being persecuted or marginalized in may parts of the world.

Therefore, it is necessary and urgent for the global community to collaborate and support a UN Convention on the Rights of LGBTQ  and Their Families (or Against All Forms of Discrimination Against LGBTQ) to advance UN Charter, values and principles for which all nations on earth are members. The efforts would strengthen and advance such as global democracy, peace, harmony, liberty, equality, justice, prosperity, inclusiveness, pluralism, universal human rights, the common good and social well being.
