Many of the most violence and abuse acts in the history of civilizations, including genocides, have been religious motivated persecution, in many circumstances, disguising as political, cultural or social or vice versa. Religious as well as non-religious people and communities of all faith have been discriminated and persecuted throughout history of humanity. However, due to much apthy or indifference; discrimination, marginalization, violence, abuse, exploitation and persecution of non-religious groups such as atheist and agnostics are still rampant in societies; thus it is necessary for UN and the global community to establish the rule of law to prevent and eliminate further tragedies and atrocities. Presently, religious and non-religious, in particularly atheist and agnostics are still being persecuted or marginalized in may parts of the world. Even in the US, according to numerous surveys, people and communities such as atheist and agnostics aresome of the most discriminated and marginalized against.
Therefore, it is necessary and urgent for the global community to collaborate and support a UN Convention Against All Forms of Religious Discrimination to advance UN Charter, values and principles for which all nations on earth are members. The efforts would strengthen and advance such as global democracy, peace, harmony, liberty, equality, justice, prosperity, inclusiveness, pluralism, universal human rights, the common good and social well being.
