The massacre in the camp in Olenivka on July 29, 2022 claimed the lives of more than 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war. So far, the Russian occupation authorities have not provided lists of the dead and wounded. Relatives should know in what conditions the prisoners are, whether they are given water and medical care. At least once a month they have the right to correspondence. It is imperative that if a trial has begun, to provide access to lawyers. It should also be reported if military prisoners are transferred to another location. Russia does not comply with any of these norms. The UN and the International Red Cross are helpunless. They only declare that they have no mechanisms to influence the aggressor. We demand that the UN mission in Ukraine, which is investigating the terrorist attack in Olenivka, immediately force Russia to provide lists of the dead and wounded Ukrainian soldiers, and also hand over the bodies of the dead to their relatives for burial.
