As of today, Michigan has over 140,000 active COVID cases. With the new variant, and people returning from their holiday travels, it is necessary that we are taking precautions and are preserving the safety of the students and staff at all University of Michigan locations. Even with the vaccinations and boosters, people are still falling ill; the health of our families and ourselves should be taken into consideration at this moment. Rather than putting each other at risk to this disease, and putting the state at further risk; we should be given the option of taking our courses online until Michigan cases begin to decrease.

The masking and vaccine protocols that the university has emailed are simply not enough to keep us all safe. Especially with the lack of testing and shelter resources offered.
