Like many UMass Minuteman Marching Band alumni, I was very excited to return to campus for homecoming this year. However, I was shocked and saddened to learn that Roll Down The Field had been removed from the pregame programming. Instead, this historical call to action had been replaced by a generic tune played by pep bands across the nation - Land of 1000 Dances. 

How are fans supposed to know to "Cheer for UMass" or to show their strength, power and class?" Surely no one will be showing the team how to fight, fight, fight. Instead they will be "doing the watusi" and "letting their backbone slip" 

At this point the UMass Football program can use all of the help it can get. I think the UMMB should do what they do best, and lead the charge. Start with bringing back Roll Down the Field.
