On May 30th 2022, at a meeting of the legislature, Chautauqua County lawmakers unanimously approved a resolution to spend $2.5 million on the proposed Broadband Infrastructure Project. During committee meetings the week prior, Mark Geise, deputy county executive and chief executive officer of the county Industrial Development Agency, went over the resolution. He said to start, they want to hire a consultant to figure out what’s the best way to identify which communities have the greatest need and see if there are ways they can match the $2.5 million with federal funds.

UltraWave Internet, a division of Ultimate Satellite Solutions located in Falconer, NY. Is a brand new WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) targeting the most rural areas of not only Chautauqua County, but across WNY. UltraWave has just taken ownership and control of a previously used communications tower located at the highest altitude in Chautauqua County which also stands 200ft high. This is achieved by breaking free from traditional service methods by utilizing new, proprietary airwave technology that is not currently being utilized, with the exception of the sheriffs department. As well as utilizing unused spectrum, also well beyond the limits of cellular and satellite. With expected speed increases to be upwards near the gigabyte (1000mbps) range in future upgrades and expansions.
