Russia’s relentless bombardment of residential areas across Ukraine has so far forced more than one million refugees to flee the country in just seven days, according to the United Nations, as fierce fighting continues into its second week. Half a million of the refugees are children, according to UNICEF, which means Europe could be facing its largest refugee crisis since World War II.

Refugees are seeking shelter and protection in foreign countries. It could be neighboring countries and it could be remote countries where Ukrainians might have friends or family such as the United States. Many Ukrainians do not have entry visas to the United States which prevents them from entering the country.

We want the US to issue a minimum of 50 000 Visas for Ukrainian refugees to enter the United States and stay protected for at least 12 months in the United States with the ability to work or study.
