The invasion of Ukraine by Russian military Forces is creating fear, terror, and much grieving.

One must remember that these are emotions that are shared whether one is Ukrainian or Russian.

The Ukrainian are to be admired for their determination in pushing back the Russians off Ukrainian territory.

We must try to help all victims irrespective of their nationality. Most of the Russian soldiers are conscripted troops and will be mainly teenagers. They will not have the same mentality as their parents and will quickly realise that they are being used.

Can some bright spark politician, (if there is such a thing), raise the question at the U.N. or other meetings of world leaders to offer asylum to Russian deserters. This would probably encourage more but it would reduce the numbers of soldiers who at this moment in time are simply cannon fodder for Putin's whims.
