If England were to win their semi-final against Denmark, then it would be a once-in-a-lifetime event for people throughout England, from every social group. The England football team hasn't won a major semi-final since 1966. This unites the country like nothing else. This petition asks the government to temporarily relax all covid restrictions for the semi-final - and possibly, hopefully, the final - so that all of our struggling pubs can open their doors to everyone.

At the moment covid rates are, thankfully, flatlining with regards to hospital admissions and actual death rates because all of the most vulnerable groups in society have been fully vaccinated. The acute crisis which we faced is over. We have all been through hell over the last 15 months.

Give us a break.

Even if this means extending the permanent relaxation of restrictions by a couple of weeks into the start of August to balance it out.

We want this. We need this. Please let us have this communal celebration.
