I am starting a petition with the hopes of closing all retail/food establishments for Christmas Eve, Christmas and Boxing Day to thank all customer-facing key workers. 

Key workers who have customer-facing jobs (supermarket staff, fast food workers, restaurant and pub workers etc.) should be allowed to spend a full 3 days off with their family to celebrate what is supposed to be the happiest time of the year.

They have been one of the most underestimated key workers during the whole pandemic. They have had to deal with horrific levels of abuse from customers whilst worrying about picking up this terrifying virus and bringing it home to family.

I believe that shutting these establishments for such a small amount of time would be a huge thank you from the entire country and show these types of key workers are actually appreciated.
