I am a part time worker and receive universal credits to top up my wage , but like everyone else those universal credit payments come under a assessment period which means some months universal credits don't pay a penny and expect people to pick up the rent arrears and struggle from week to week. I would like the assessment period scrapped and for it to be on a monthly basis not assesment periods. I and probably alot of others have had to suffer due to this and I really don't think it's acceptable that they expect us to pick up what they won't pay just on a part time wage . They said that this way would stop people getting into debt with HMRC yet it's just making them in debt with others or constantly juggling money.
