UK should give 22 year old cancer patient a RIGHT TO LIFE.
This petition had 1,595 supporters
Alex Shepherd, at 22 years of age has a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer and has been informed by the NHS that's she needs to find £114,000 a year to fund the treatment that she requires.
The treatment is readily available through the NHS for other types of cancer, but because of lack of licence and the rarity of Alex's cancer the NHS is unable to fund the treatment.
She is determined to do everything in her power to improve her health and has started a fundraising page in an attempt to raise money to save her own life.
We believe as a community that Alex should not carry the burden of raising funds for life saving treatment and she should be entitled to receive the treatment through the NHS. The treatment has proven to help another patient in Portugal and we believe that it is wholly unreasonable for our government to put a price tag on Alex's right to life.
Alex is a bright, passionate, and loving young lady and simply wishes to continue to live.
The Government and her local MP have already been contacted in desperation, but no reply. Please sign and share this petition to try and get Alex the treatment she needs to live the rest of her life.
