UK MPs to be allowed free vote on triggering Article 50
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Since the ruling by UK's highest court makes it clear that any changes to the United Kingdom's constitutional arrangements MUST be approved by Parliament, and that "to proceed otherwise would be a breach of settled constitutional principles stretching back many centuries", we the undersigned do not expect a "stitch up" on Article 50 via a quickly passed motion. The real issues surrounding withdrawal from the European Union have not yet been debated outside the prior hysterical and often downright misleading rhetoric.
We hereby call on all members of Parliament to do their duty as REPRESENTATIVES, elected or otherwise, and to vote according primarily to the wishes of their constituents, and not by simply agreeing beforehand to move as swiftly as possible.
The entire Brexit referendum debacle risks creating a permanent rift in British society. To proceed now with due debate, deliberation and to put the wishes of UK citizens BEFORE all other considerations, is the right and proper way to proceed and which offers the best prospect for consideration of the serious and weighty matters at hand.
