The huge fire that engulfed Grenfell Tower in Latimer Road, in London, that started shortly before 1am on Wednesday 14th June, is a clear example of why the fire service, need aerial platforms that can reach and save people in high rise buildings.
At the moment the aerial platforms that the fire brigade use, can only reach 32m. I propose that the UK fire service, should be using aerial platforms that can reach at least 100m.
If we had appliances that could reach that high, we would have more chance of saving peoples lives than we do at the moment.
