We need to take a firm approach across the entire food and drink packaging industry. Consumers are trying to do the right thing however we need legislation and action at the supplier level to help us change.

There is nothing more annoying than seeing ‘film not currently recycled’ or the cop out ‘arrange for this packaging to be collected’ (Coffee pods etc.) This isn't good enough and we need to make significant changes as soon as possible.

If all food and drink packaging was totally recyclable by default, this would make it more convenient, easier and clearer even if it meant paying a little more to do the right thing.

This isn’t the entire solution, just a step in the right direction as we also need to guarantee the items are recycled effectively rather than hoping they will be.
