Tony Foulds is 82 years of age and witnessed the downing of a US Airforce plane in a Sheffield Park on 22nd February 1944. He has been maintaining this memorial at his own expense since the 1970’s. He has made the memorial into an amazing tribute to the ten servicemen who lost their lives.

In my opinionthis is what the UK honours system is there for and for his contribution he should be recognised and thanked by our country. Please consider agreeing with me in that he deserves a MBE at least. Please not the UK and US Governments.

There will be a fly past by the USAF on 22nd February this year which was organised by a local journalist which brought Mr. Foulds to tears. Let us do one better for this man and give him an award for spending his lifetime maintaining this memorial.

I have never met this gent but I truly believe our honours system is for people who deserve awards rather than receive them for simply being rich or in lofty positions.
