The UK Government to temporarily reduce Fuel Duty and VAT on Fuel
With the vast increase in fuel prices, and the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe and the sanctions that rightly accompany it. The price of fuel has increased to record high's across the UK, meaning people will soon struggle to go about their daily lives. The UK Government could help the every day classes by temporarily reducing VAT on fuel and Fuel Duty (Currently at 57.95p Per Litre). Reducing these rates on a temporary basis would go a long way to ensure people can continue to go about their daily lives and continue to support the nations economy. For example reducing VAT to 5% similar to the 'Eat out to help out' Scheme back in 2020 and reducing Fuel Duty to 30p per litre, for a fixed 6 months, would have a massive positive effect on ever car drivers finances and businesses alike.
