This is a petition to ask all European governments and the UK to ban all trade (except for essential food and humanitarian aid), sport and cultural exchanges with any aggressor who invades a sovereign country or threatens nuclear war.   And, to offer all countries this right of protection with the principle all for one and one for all.  Creating a Nato style defence treaty for all peaceful countries, including Russia. 

The present crisis in Ukraine

Throughout the world people are horrified by what is happening in Ukraine and terrified at the threat and potential escalation to nuclear war.  I want to put forward a proposal that could lead to peace.

The principles and rationale 

No person or nation should have the power to terrorise and ransom everyone or invade sovereign countries.  All human life is sacrosanct, and  perpetrators of war crimes should be given no sanctuary.

War requires money and resources, so by introducing an embargo then war becomes economically difficult.  Sanctions can take a long time to work and can hit too many ordinary people whilst elites are protected.  However, by offering Putin membership of a new security organisation it removes Putin’s justification for war which he says is defence of national security and offers the Russian people a peaceful alternative, and a bridge if they choose to oust Putin.  As to Putin’s secondary reason of protection of minorities, then it can be agreed that economic sanctions are commenced if human rights are breached to protect us from dictators.  It also demonstrates the peaceful intent of free nations of western democracies to Russia and their belief in everyone’s inalienable human rights.   

While it is tempting to view the invaders as the enemy, to achieve peace we must pursue peaceful rather than vengeful policies.   Peace cannot be achieved through, fear, hatred or revenge.   Force begets force and love finds love. Which is why this petition firstly cuts Putin’s funding via a complete embargo, and then extends the hand of friendship to the Russian people by offering them a seat within this NATO type economic and social defence organisation.  

For the sake of all our humanity, let us show the warmongers of the world the universal principles of love and peace.  It is more important to save lives of others, and with it our own lives under the spectre of Nuclear Armageddon rather than profit from trade, sport and cultural exchanges.  Let’s not eat or share food at the table of homicidal murderers, or give them any lasting economic benefit to murder innocents.  Our existence is dependent and connected to each other in the nuclear age.  If we do not take a moral stand to create systems against war then we are all culpable.

The total isolation of aggressors will create a safer world and is a fundamental step of liberation from the fear of armed conflict and of course decreasing the risk of the start of a Third World War of Nuclear Armageddon.  Clearly, once there is a worldwide deterrent to war in treaty form then negotiations can finally occur for nuclear and military disarmament to achieve a lasting peace for our humanity and sacred earth.   Worldwide peace is not a dream, but a certainty with a fundamental reform of international law by the will of the people.
