I believe every parent should pay for their children but there are circumstances where this should be acceptable to suspend this. If another parent takes away your rights as a parent, stops access, birthdays and contact altogether. If one parent has the power to remove your rights and treat you like nothing. Then why should a parent not have the same rights to refuse to pay. I believe that child maintenance, can leave a parent in serious trouble, if this parent has been refused access to their children and then turns to a solicitor. This could cost them money that they struggle to find but all the time they are still working and paying for their children. I believe innocent until proven does not apply here but in some circumstances, all a parents rights removed and yet they are still expected to pay for their children. In fact expected to pay even more when access is stopped altogether, surely this is wrong
