Democracy is too important to ignore thinking that since we live in a democratic society it can never be anything else. The issue is to both protect and extend democracy and to keep vigilant.

I want members of the public to be more involved in decision-making rather than 'elites' like politicians and company directors on issues which affect all of us, as most issues - and decisions - do. However, necessary for that to be effective is a better media giving facts rather than the opinions of newspaper magnates and right-wing editors.

I agree with what the petition says - RDM and other organisations who want system change can join together to make it happen - someone has to take a lead.

However, I believe that a free and impartial media and press is also neccesary, otherwise the outcome will be 'Garbage in, garbage out'.
