US citizens protesting the murder of George Floyd have been subject to unlawful treatment by the police and as a nation, we in the UK should not be supporting these actions by exporting weapons that are being used to undermine their right to protest
As the Independent reports: "The police response, apparently endorsed by president Donald Trump, has seen security forces ramming crowds with cars, deploying gas and baton rounds against peaceful demonstrators, and arresting and shooting at domestic and international journalists covering events." And as supporters of democracy we should not endorse brute force against people exercising their right to be heard
