Stop the barbaric treatment of universal credit claimants by indendently advised changes

Many UK citizens are being treated like peasants by this new system. The system makes it extremely difficult to claim the correct assistance as case workers no longer offer the best advice, you may as well be filling in a form on a computer People are left feeling insulted, devalued, distraught and angry by the process. When they do receive a benefit award it is often so low that they cannot possibly live on it putting vulnerable people into debt, homelessness and danger. Penalties are too severe making situations even more difficult Arguing decisions is impossible as the rules are black and white with no flexibility but life is grey and people colourful - there is no allowance for this. There are many flaws in the current system across the board from self employed to the young. Therefore we the undersigned request that UK parliament set up an independent group of people to represent 'the general public' to issue a survey of all current benefit claimants and gain a real understanding of the universal credit system's failings, not just mechanical but humanitarian They will provide an assessment on how to correct these flaws which must be made public and implemented with a matter of urgency. Barbaric suffering and bullying of the vulnerable must be stopped. The government is there to act upon the wishes of the public
