We are currently facing a global health pandemic of cataclysmic proportions. The NHS has long been neglected and underfunded.  Now, after our Government has inadequately prepared or anticipated the national health crisis we are in, essential NHS staff and facilities need support and funding now more than ever.

Furthermore, the UK now faces an economic crash, with workers and businesses nationwide facing bankruptcy.  This may result in hard working members of the British public along being unable to meet their basic housing, bills and utilities costs.  The impact this may have on all people including vulnerable individuals and families, is unimaginable.

The HS2 is a high speed railway project connecting London to Manchester, however, it has been met with extreme opposition by activists due to it costing an estimate £106 Billion in tax payer money to fund.

Not only this, the HS2 project will destroy 108 ancient woodlands, and this reckless destruction will include entire eco-systems, natural habitats, and wildlife including endangered species.  It will also increase the amount of carbon emissions despite the UK Government declaring a climate emergency in 2019.

Moral and ethical requirements of UK Government:

  • Boris Johnson, UK Government to immediately cease this unnecessary act of criminal ecocide and reckless, unnecessary spending of tax payer money at this critical time.
  • Boris Johnson, UK Government to immediately redirect this tax payer money into funding NHS staff and equipment in line with the COVID-19 pandemic. We demand Boris Johnson ensures that the British people are provided with the best possible healthcare at this time and that the UK Government holds the needs of the NHS as paramount above unnecessary transportation projects.
  • Boris Johnson, UK Government to ensure that the economic needs of the British public are met and are of highest priority.  We demand that the UK Government channels HS2 budget into creating more accessible funding and support to the British public.   It is the obligation of the UK Government to provide non-repayable grants and adequate financial assistance to the British public before unnecessary transportation projects.
