False fire alarms are a huge problem in the UK with more than 500,000 call outs to the emergency services being recorded each year. 293,000 turn out to be false alarms which when totalled up cost the UK Government nearly 1 Billion pounds. Imagine how much Co2 could be saved if these false fire alarms were stopped or reduced? How many lives could be saved by the fire service only attending real fires instead of false alarms? How much pressure could be eased on the struggling fire services across the UK? We have lobbied the UK Government for over 15 years to change the legislation to make it mandatory that in all nurses and student accommodation a Cookermiser/Ventmiser unit should be fitted as standard just as fire alarms are but they haven't listened. Cookermiser/Ventmiser was invented to stop or reduce false fire alarms. When Ventmiser and Cookermiser are installed correctly in student accommodation and social housing its been proven that false fire alarms are greatly reduced and some cases totally eradicated. Can you help make this happen? The recent fire at the Bolton Cube student accommodation nearly claimed many lives due to the fact the students were so used to having false fire alarms they ignored the alarm when a real fire happened. Cookermiser was in the specification, it was value engineered off the project putting profit over lives. We feel this needs to change, nothing is more important than the safety of the human life.
