Stop Companies and Individuals buying tickets for events to resell higher than face value
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
This has been a problem for years but now the touts and ticket companies have gone too far. Ticketmaster own resale sites which are selling tickets at inflated prices before they even go on sale. They take a percentage of commission with event goers sometimes paying over £100 just for a booking fee.
Fans who have been logged on to ticket sites (such as Ticketmaster) before the tickets went on sale have found that when the lines open at 9am there are already no tickets to be bought. Yet at 9.10 tickets are appearing on sites such as Getmein.com (which is part of Ticketmaster) and Viagogo for 3 and 4 times the face value.
This practice is stopping real fans getting to see the events unless they are prepared to pay £200 for a £55 ticket.
I call on the government to outlaw the touting of all music and sports tickets and properly regulate resale sites so they are more of a public service than a way for ticket companies to make immoral profits.
