To the government of the United Kingdom:

The Russian army has invaded the sovereign state of Ukraine. They have targeted civilians, used outlawed weapons and attacked a nuclear power plant among other atrocities and war crimes. 

Yet, we still buy oil and gas from them. 

We the signatories of this petition call on the government to stop buying Russian oil and gas. The British people can turn off  their heating, use the car as little as possible, turn off their house lights to a bare minimum, wear an extra jumper. 

Save the remaining supplies for essential services, the elderly and the vulnerable. 

It is inconceivable that despite the atrocities being committed in Ukraine on a daily basis, we still line the pockets of the Russian state and the oligarchs who control it and benefit from it. 

We are prepared to endure a little hardship in support of the Ukrainian people, who are losing their lives, their homes and their country. 

Stop buying Russian gas and oil.
