Sports Broadcasters in the UK charge families, individuals and hospitality venues up and down the land large sums of money per month for the right to view/show live sporting events. Most, if not all of these events are now, or will be cancelled/suspended. During this period the broadcasters have no plans to reduce the fees charged to their customers.

For the forseable future paying customers will not recieve the top tier live sports promised as part of their packages. As such the broadcasters should suspend or reduce the subscriptions until such point as the live sport is available to broadcast again.

You can't justify charging 'x' amount one month to show live sport from the biggest and best competitions then charge the same 'x' amount the following month to show repeats and highlights. These are not comparable services and can not demand the same revenues from subscribers.

Many subscription holders will enjoy loyalty discounts or be benefitting from many different schemes which allow them to access these services at lower than advertised prices. These customers are not able to cancel their subscriptions and be sure to have access to the same discounts and benefits when they return. Therefore the broadcasters should at the very least be offering people the option to freeze their subscriptions with the option to restart as and when sport is back on.

The UK Government should be doing something to put pressure on these organisations.
