Special schools staff in England started this petition to UK Parliament and

As teachers and support staff in special schools, we feel that the government advice on September re-opening carries with it very little recognition of the challenges many of us will be facing. We have very serious concerns about the reality that this will create in our already chronically underfunded special schools in September.
Our vulnerable students very often find it very difficult to cope with change and even the return after the normal 6-week summer break can be very difficult for them. In September our students will be returning after almost 6 months.
Simply giving an instruction to heads to accept all students back under threat of government legal action is unacceptable. Head teachers in special schools need to consider very carefully the needs of their students, and as the experts on the ground they must be allowed to use their own judgement on the difficulties and risks involved and the best way to settle our students back.
We need a safe, humane and well-planned return that recognises the real and specific needs of our students. We need a recovery plan and a recovery curriculum.
As the government professes a concern for the disadvantaged, we urge them to listen harder to the people who work with our most vulnerable students.
