Quarantine hotels are not fit for purpose. We are having reports that they are not well run and that even they are helping people catch covid who did not have it when they arrived. Also this is against the government policy of "living with covid" i.e. that we are supposed to mix and build up a level of natural immunity. People are paying an obscene amount of money for poor quality accommodation. For the price of the hotel one can have a good quality holiday in a foreign country or stay in a top class hotel in the centre of London. People are being imprisoned in these rat infested flea pits that are coming from countries which do not have a covid problem e.g. Sierra Leone where they have had a trivial amount of cases/deaths compared to the UK. Other countries are scrapping the schemes as they killing the travel industry. This disease is not going away ..ever, so are we going to have a permanent quarantine system for certain countries because we don't like them? I propose we scrap this poorly thought through and badly managed scheme as soon as possible.
