As it stands, school staff are not being prioritised for the first phase of the vaccination programme.

This is unacceptable.

We, as teachers and school staff, are committed to providing the best possible education to our students, despite the challenging circumstances schools are in due to Covid-19.

However, despite being indoors with 100s if not 1000s of students and staff for prolonged amounts of time, it is disappointing that we have been overlooked for prioritisation for the vaccine, especially given that we do not have the option of working from home

Each week there are thousands upon thousands of staff and students having to self-isolate as a result of exposure to Covid-19; the constant disruption is taking a toll on us physically, mentally and socially.

We, as teachers and school staff, are putting our health at risk on a daily basis to ensure that the nation's children do not miss out on their all important education.

Given that schools being open is seen as a national priority, school staff very much deserve to be prioritised for vaccinations, especially those who bravely come into work day in and day out who have underlying health conditions.

We are front line workers.

We deserve to be prioritised for vaccination.

Allow us to teach and support our students without putting our health at risk.
