Retain Britain’s membership of the ERASMUS scheme
The UK has been a member of the ERASMUS scheme since the 1980’s, allowing British students to study at European universities to enrich their studies and their wider educations. The British Parliament, ahead of leaving the European Union on 31st January, has now agreed to remove British participation in the scheme to the detriment of thousands of students across the UK, as well as their European counterparts. This constitutes an abject attack on the right of British students to broaden their horizons and gain experience in their relevant fields from incredible institutions across the continent. In addition British students are now denied the opportunity to easily broaden their horizons and immerse themselves in the culture of other European countries during their studies. This petition calls on the UK Government to agree to maintain the UK’s continued participation in the ERASMUS scheme.
