Animals get scared, kids get hurt & the environment suffers. So isn't it about time we restricted fireworks to November 5th & organised public displays only? People would know to keep their pets indoors on a certain date and it would be much less traumatic for our wildlife too. Personally I would like to see a total ban, don't get me wrong - I do actually like fireworks but I love animals so much more. There are loads of accidents that happen each year due to carelessness, as well as 'non-accidents' where people are cruel and malicious to animals as well as people. The environment suffers too, with pollution and debris. Fireworks are after all explosives, which too many people seem to forget and clearly need reminding. Not enough people are responsible on their own, they need to be told how to be. Remember, remember the 5th of November (only)!
