Melissa Ball started this petition to UK Parliament and

The government states that: Workers have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day, if they work more than 6 hours a day.

However, this practice is ineffective and causes a risk to human health, and safety in the workplace. As people who work in roles that are physically and mentally demanding, for example, the retail and hospitality sectors. These roles require workers to endure prolonged periods of standing, in a fast-paced environment, which involves providing customer service, taking and processing orders, replenishing stock, and maintaining a clean and presentable establishment.

This activity puts a strain on the body, causes fatigue, stress, low mood, back pain, stomach pain, headaches, dizziness, etc. Which will lead to inefficiency, accidents at work, and a risk to human health.

I propose that the law on rest brakes need to be changed to; Workers should have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during the working day, if they work 6 hours or more during their scheduled shift.
