Pakistan is about to be added to the red list travel ban countries. This news greatly concerns over 1 million British Pakistanis. COVID has impacted humanity severely over the last year, with people losing their lively hoods, shattered dreams and most importantly their loved ones.
Deep family connections between the residence of the two countries warrant regular commute to fulfil traditional and religious duties. Families often bear considerable expense during these trips and contribute to local economies.
It is evident from recent data that COVID (all variant) infection and mortality rate in Pakistan is significantly lower than some countries e.g., France, Germany, UK, India etc.
We urge the Government to reconsider their decision and remove Pakistan from the ‘red list’ countries.
