The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine taken in India (Covishield) is recognised by the UK. However the vaccination certificate is not. This has been retaliated by Indian government with ‘punitive quarantine’ for UK travellers.

1.Please accept the proof of vaccination and allow parity in the quarantine requirements.

2. Please make it known to the public, the reason for such differential treatment of the Certification, so that this can be rectified.

The public need to know what the concerns are as there are multiple rumours such as Modi’s image on the certification, authenticity of the Certification, vaccine issued by private providers etc being the reasons.

Above  measures will ensure trust in the system by demonstrating transparency and equality in treatment.
