Provide specialist training for secondary school teachers about autistic students

Secondary school teachers (and college/sixth form teachers) should be provided with high level training on how to spot Autism in young people and systems put in place to support these young people, to help stop them slipping through the net.
I wasn’t diagnosed as Autistic until after I left Sixth form, and had someone picked up on it sooner rather than labelling me as difficult and different, I would have had a very different experience of education.
Autistic people don’t fit in a box, so please help educate teachers!
