Outlaw discrimination against vegans in the U.K.

Every day I see or hear about examples where vegans are discriminated against. We are subjected to mockery, made to feel we are a problem and even threatened with violence for our beliefs. I have had prawns put in my ‘vegan’ meal and am forced to accept products containing animals in direct opposition to my beliefs.
Vegans have deeply held beliefs that should be respected in law in the same way religious groups have their beliefs protected. An apology is not enough where non vegan products are given to vegans. This should be treated in the same way as giving someone with an allergy a product they are allergic to. We need strong clear laws to defend the rights of vegans.
It should also be a criminal offence to label products as suitable for vegans when they are not and there should be a label for all products suitable for vegans. Nor should vegans ever be forced to handle non vegan items.
