The 91000 victims of covid were rightly honoured with one minutes of silence for the nation to pay our respects. However the 604000 victims of premature deaths due to preventable diseases such as cancer and heart disease have been forgotten. Across the country many heroic NHS staff have fought to maintain the previous level of support, especially with regards to cancer screening and treatments. Tragically many areas have failed to achieve previous levels of service. Much more can be done to extend the lives of our most vulnerable citizens. Every live matters. Let us remember them and reflect on this with a minutes silence. Thank you.
