To ensure that the NHS is properly funded whilst improving efficiency and effectiveness I propose that a CROSS PARTY steering group INCLUDING clinicians is set up to advise on the likely budget requirements on a rolling 5 YEAR programme by examining/planning such things as (but not exclusively) :

* Estimating the likely demands for future surgical procedures etc.

* Projecting the staffing numbers needed and training required.

* Planning the likely funding for staff, equipment and buildings including geographical location.

* Best practice used in any aspect in one Health Authority is extended across all.

The UK health care and the fantastic committed staff deserves to be looked after regardless of politics and need the input of the people in the organisation.
