More Funding & Easier accessible services For Mental Health sufferers
Why this petition matters
In the last 12 months, a community has watched as the system has failed several young men and women suffering with mental health.
The noticeable change encouraging each other that ‘Its okay, not to be Okay.’ Has seen thousands more people speaking out about their emotional well-being and being proud to open up about there struggles via social media platforms. And has probably seen thousands seeking medical help from the hands of the experts.
But yet, The simple truth is; there isn’t enough accessible help out there. Your put into a long waiting list, your turned away from hospitals, your put on medication with no follow up, work places haven’t got the funding to support workplace counselling, schools haven’t got the funding too ether.
and the simple, extremely sad truth is, too many are finding there way out through suicide.
Trying to get a same day, week even .. doctors appointment is near on impossible. By which point those that have found the courage to seek medical help have often shy’d away from the idea by the time that appointment date comes around.
There is absolutely no ongoing support for those struggling with their own minds. And there simply isn’t any quick fix for these problems...
Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care: needs to answer for this. Boris Johnson, our Prime Minister : needs to answer to this. NHS england need to stand firmer for this.
In the last 12 months I’ve lived through 5 young men, take their own lives. None of which I’ve known personally, but have still felt effected by seeing so many I do know suffer the loss of people they’ve loved. Seeing people so young have nowhere else to turn. Is heartbreaking. I feel strongly that it’s time together we take a stand, we petition to get this recognised. We fight for change, for those we’ve lost and those we don’t want to loose. That we get this talked about, not just on our social media pages but worldwide.
At 10,000 signatures, the government will formally respond.. but that’s not good enough. However At 100,000 signatures, the request will be considered by the Petitions Committee for debate in Parliament.. and maybe, just maybe. They may pay attention.
So sign the petition, copy the link, send it on, share it on your Facebook page, your twitter page, your insta story..
STAND TOGETHER.
