I understand the argument that values personal privacy as a priority. But I feel it is outweighed by the need to protect those who are more vulnerable

I'm signing because it does seem that the abuse has been too often been because relatives have been concerned and put it in. I do think if people have capacity they should be asked if they want it and have this decision regularly reviewed. It needs balancing with the right to privacy.

I am signing because of seeing abuse in a care home and ATU to people with autism and learning disability. Sometimes staff are cruel and need to be safeguarded as early as possible without detrimental delay to the people they are abusing. CCTV would make staff aware of their own brutality if under camera.

We can no longer trust that our family members are safe from abuse. If there are cameras, it will provide reassurance that if any abuse takes place it, the evidence will exist. The presence of cameras may also deter some from abusing those in their care.
