Lower The Duty on Fuel

With the price of fuel climbing over 15p a litre to 132p in 3 weeks this has an impact all motorists, and will ultimately impact everyone with public transport prices increasing. As a transport business owner like many others my profit shrinks each day along with my customers. If I keep putting my prices up my customer loses out so they go elsewhere, then I lose out, but who always wins? The Government and why? Because they charge 20% Vat on the wholesale price as well as a fixed rate of 57.95p per litre. This is clearly not fair especially as we are already taxed to the eyeballs on everything in life. We need to lobby parliament and push to get the fixed rate lowered to a reasonable level, the UK has the highest Tax level for fuel in the EU and even dropping the duty by 10p will take a lot of strain from all businesses and road users alike.
