A “silent” conflict is being waged across the island, with tens of thousands of government troops continuing to occupy the north and east and the army expanding its property developments on land belonging to displaced Tamils. The developments, rehabilitation and resettlement of the war affected Tamil speaking people are being worst condition in North and East while the government arrange big sum of money to build Buddha Temples (Viharai) in Tamil's ethnic places as well as they allocated big percentage of people's money for the defence expenditures which is not necessary at this situation ( Sri Lankan troops are not fighting with any other countries or groups). So, the very important processes which should be done immediately by Sri Lankan government are proper assistance to the refugees to rebuild their lives and the withdrawal of security forces from the North and East of Sri Lanka as well as should give the responsibility to handle the public police powers to the provincial government.

Even after the so called 'good government', the plight of the tamils have gone to an all new and dangerous unknown parameters. The suffering of the people have been immeasurable and it must stop at once and for all. It is the right of the people to live in their land with peace and dignity. The people have developed this place with sweat and blood only for the military to snatch it away after all the sufferings they have endured especially the so called 'everything is fine over there' attitude by the world. How can this be allowed?
