Kirsty Smith started this petition to UK Parliament and

On 31st Oct, Boris Johnson announced national lockdown in England until 2nd Dec (no guarantee that ends then).
England Netball have already spent many hours ensuring the game of Netball has been modified so that it is COVID safe.
Clubs, leagues and players are all following these guidelines and rules including distancing of 4ft, regular sanitising of ball, post and hands every quarter and as such the risk of transmission is very low. The games can and have been played outside also.
Our children are still going to school which is deemed safe but all other social interaction has been taken away from them. They need to be kept active for their mental and physical wellbeing and sport should be allowed to continue if it can show that it is done in a safe and controlled manner.

Please sign this petition and get parliament to debate the issue of continuing with Youth sport during this lockdown. The affect of locking down our youth again for another month or longer will have a massive effect later on the NHS for the loss of physical activity(we need to keep them engaged) as well as the impact on the mental health services. There are petitions circulating for grassroots football and Netball has already been adapted so that it can be played safely.  We can and should be encouraging our children to be active and if we can do this in a safe and controlled way why can’t it continue?
