Keep the history of street lanterns on the streets

In recent years, all around the UK, our councils have been replacing the history of street lighting, (ELECO, G.E.C., THORN, PHOSCO) off the streets and replacing them with dull or corrupt chip LED's most likely imported from China.
These new so called efficient LED's do not light up half as much of the roads as much as SOX, SON or MBF did. Yes we need to move on, but while we do we should keep our history involved, by upgrading the old fittings with LED bulb's not replacing and scrapping them for these horrid chip fittings with electronic ballasts.
Most people will not care, with everyday life, this is an overlooked hobbie or interest. However we used to make most of our street lanterns here in England before the so called EU. Lets keep the history for many future generations to see.
I will never use any LED fittings indoor or outdoor, stocking up on the old is better, trust me. I hope many people will follow.
