Introduce unique transaction IDs on all retail packaging, to finally fix the litter crisis
Why this petition matters

The recent lockdown Park littering, has really grasped the attention of the UK public. We are facing an unprecedented tsunami of plastic retail packaging waste in the UK right now. Our rivers, green spaces, your family’s tap water and even newborn baby’s placentas, contain plastic, right now.
Brandsthatcreatelitter on Instagram has collected 25 Tonnes of plastic over 10 yrs, just from the rivers and roads of one UK town. The scale of this issue is colossal, effecting every man, women and child in our formally beautiful country. Companies are now cancelling trips to England, because they are ashamed of our extensive litter, on every road, park, river and retail site.
The reason people litter, is simply because they now have been trained to think that there are no consequences. They don’t feel any connection to nature or the impact their littering has, so they think, well what difference does it make to ME. We are, as sad as it sounds, a selfish ape, who only thinks short-term. That worked fine, until man invented plastic♻️♀️❤️
This is how we stop it. A unique transaction ID links each piece of packaging and product, to a single customer who bought the item. Card payments are paired with a unique serial number on each item, which is assigned by the manufacturer. Cash payments must be paired with car registration or a form of personal ID. Overnight, every single piece of litter, on a road, in a river, or in a park, has a direct spotlight, onto the careless person who threw it away. People will be able to collect litter, photograph where it was found, report the Unique transaction ID to a central website/app and when the person hits a three strikes and your out limit, the person will be charged a fine. This allows for the accidental or indirect littering to be excused, unless it is persistent. This solves the privacy issue of car plates on fastfood wrappers, it is cheap to implement and has a 100% traceability back to the selfish litterbug.
The unique id, instantly finds the culprit. Imagine all this time, dog poo flingers, caught red handed, the idiot who empties his fast food out of his car in the carpark, the traffic light declutterers and even all park litterers, caught in one simple way, that will transform this country overnight. The details will need to worked out, but this represents our most powerful way of being loyal to our country and once and for all, stepping up to fix this appalling stain on our national character.
