Introduce personal taxation into the Secondary Curriculum

Every year a massive number of pupils are leaving school without practical real-life knowledge. The most pervasive lack of knowledge is that of taxes. Chances are that these young adults will know that they have to pay taxes in the future, but unfortunately that is where the knowledge ends. Given that almost every resident in the United Kingdom is legally required to pay tax at some point in time, should not every potential tax paying resident therefore have a right to be educated on the issue by the State?
The practical effect of a change in Curriculum would be beneficial to both the pupils and the State, as it is in the State's best interests that people know how, why and when to pay tax.
Please sign my petition to encourage the Government to further invest in the education of our future generations. Parliament have the power to instigate this change, and I believe that the minimal cost of introducing the subject in schools is far outweighed by the benefit to the State itself. This would be a mutually beneficial to all parties and a positive step from the Government to show that they are passionate about educating future generations.
